WEATHER BLOG: Wintry Morning
Hi Everyone!
Today was proof that the kind of snow, not the amount, determines how rough your life will be on a Wintery morning.
Overnight we had just under 2 inches of snow. Dry, powdery, SLICK snow. We would have been better off with 4 inches of wet snow. At least that would give you some traction. This day's snow give you no "footing" at all. It is like being on ice. Linh and I both agreed with Mike Schuh, and Ron Matz, (who were out live this AM), that it was easier to drive the day after the blizzard.
Later on it warm up to 34 degrees, and the snow will become rain, (albeit after a brief period of sleet/freezing rain). That rain will be heavy at times tonight and especially tomorrow. Then life gets pretty good.
Indications are the rest of the week will be calm with seasonal to above normal temp's. That little slice of the "Polar Vortex" this past weekend is just a bad memory now. SWEET!
In the short term, today, be careful , and find that umbrella. You will need it!
