WEATHER BLOG: Windy And Colder
The passage of a cold front last night brought us a brief period of rain and some thunder, but most notably it brought us windy and colder weather overnight. The cold front has moved on, but the wind will remain... strongest this morning where we've already had some wind gusts to near 60 mph! The wind will continue to gust 45 to 55 mph through the rest of this morning. Again, the highest gusts will be early, but as we get into the afternoon, the wind will gradually subside, but some gusts of 25 to 35 mph are still possible for a couple of hours after noon. We'll be in between storm systems tonight with not much going on other than patchy clouds. The wind which will have subsided significantly by this evening but the wind will again be on the increase late tonight as another storm system approaches.
It will be breezy and milder tomorrow. Southwest wind will gust 25-35 mph tomorrow and any morning sunshine will fade behind afternoon clouds and showers. There may be a leftover shower tomorrow evening, otherwise the skies will clear out overnight as the storm moves away. It will be chilly but dry on Tuesday with high pressure in control of our weather. It will turn milder on Wednesday ahead of the next storm system to impact our region.
This next storm could bring us a shower or thunderstorm late Wednesday night, but most of the rain and thunder will occur on Thursday as the storm system moves through the Northeast. Thursday's high may occur early in the day, as colder air will sweep in behind Thursday's storm system leading to falling temperatures during the afternoon. Friday will be brisk and chilly with clouds limiting our sunshine.
