The Earthquake That Hit Philly Last Night..
Earthquake Hits Philly
While we're all aware of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit Baja California last night, tremors of a different kind were being felt in the Philadelphia region last night. Breaking news alerts interrupted prime time television shows to announce the Eagles' trade of 6-time Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb. I was witness to the "quake" that rocked Philly last night as I was in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley getting my weekly dose of Celebrity Apprentice courtesy of NBC Philadelphia when the news hit. Breaking news alerts popped up on the television screen and at one point the screen split and there was footage of someone behind a podium making the announcement of the trade. The hard-hitting breaking news was that Donovan McNabb was going to the Redskins for a pair of draft picks.. Really? Interrupt my program for this? That never would have flown here in Baltimore. And The Donald never would have had it either. "McNabb, you're fired!" As much as I am trying to understand the Philadelphian football culture and just why, this was important breaking news, I felt the tremors following this breaking news on several different radio shows during my early morning drive back to my own station today in Baltimore. This "breaking news" dominated all of the shows today on 105.7 the Fan..and I am still hearing of the same tremors that are hitting DC right now..Gotta run! Hurricane "Tiger" is about to hit our airwaves on 105.7 FM!
