BALTIMORE- Scattered evening showers and isolated thunderstorms will slowly dissipate. Nicer weather is on the way for Monday.

Scattered showers and gusty thunderstorms that have impacted Maryland on this Mother's Day will continue to slowly dissipate. Some of the storms today featured small hail, heavy downpours, and lightning.

The weather trend this evening will be for less in the way of showers as the evening continues. Patchy areas of fog are possible overnight tonight. Low temperatures will dip into the upper 40s & lower 50s.

Monday's weather looks fantastic. There will be some patchy areas of early morning fog. Otherwise expect a partly to mostly sunny sky. The wind will increase out of the south at 10 to 20 mph. With the southerly wind and more in the way of sunshine, high temperatures should climb into the middle to upper 70s.

You'll want to take advantage of the weather Monday because rain returns to the forecast Tuesday. Showers will likely break out across the area by midday into the afternoon hours. Once the showers begin, they'll be lingering around for awhile. The steadiest of the rain looks to impact the area late Tuesday through Wednesday. This is when we'll see some rounds of steadier to heavier rain and possibly a few thunderstorms. The main impact from this weather system would be heavy downpours. Some pockets of flooding are possible in poor drainage areas.

We will receive another nice weather day on Thursday. Once again, you'll want to take advantage of the dry conditions. With a partly to mostly sunny sky, temperatures will climb into the upper 70s to around 80. Get any outdoor activities or work done Thursday with the dry and comfortable conditions.

Another area of low pressure will impact the area Friday into next Saturday. This will be another slow moving storm with widespread showers. While we aren't expecting any severe weather, outdoor actiivites will be tough with the rain. High temperatures will reach the middle 70s Friday and lower 70s Saturday.

This system will slowly push offshore Saturday night into Sunday. Right now, we're going with an optimistic forecast for Sunday with partial clearing and warmer weather. However, there is a chance the rain lingers around longer, so keep checking back to the forecast this week for updates!
