TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) -- The latest wave of wintry weather in Maryland kept crews busy on Monday. Maryland State Police responded to 131 crashes between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday.

Troopers also responded to 41 unattended or disabled vehicles and answered 495 calls for service.

One of the accidents was along the outer loop of I-695. Emergency crews responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash between Dulaney Valley and York roads.

All lanes were blocked for a period of time, but have since reopened.

Warnings about ramps and bridges being more slippery proved true. One vehicle slid off a ramp and into a ravine. A viewer shared a photo of a crash on I-695 as well.

Another woman, Amanda Rispoli, wrote on Facebook she was lucky to be alive after a sheet of ice flew off an SUV in front of her and hit her vehicle, shattering the windshield.

In Eldersburg, Brian Wetherson said his normally one-hour commute from Hagerstown took twice that on Monday.

"Everybody was going about 20-30 miles an hour," he said. "The roads are still covered."
