Encarnacion Hits 2 HRs, Drives in 5, Blue Jays Beat Orioles

TORONTO (AP) -- Edwin Encarnacion hit two more homers and drove in five runs as the Toronto Blue Jays beat Baltimore 11-6 on Saturday, the Orioles' second straight defeat following a five-game winning streak.

Encarnacion snapped an 0-for-19 slump by ending Friday's game with a leadoff homer in the 10th. On Saturday, he walked in the first, hit an RBI double in the third, walked in the fifth, hit a three-run blast in Toronto's five-run sixth, then went back-to-back with Michael Saunders in the eighth.

It was the 23rd multihomer game of Encarnacion's career. Toronto hit consecutive homers for the third time this season.

Chris Davis hit a two-run homer for Baltimore and Manny Machado and Joey Rickard each hit solo shots.

Machado also doubled and singled and scored three times. His leadoff homer in the sixth gave the Orioles a 4-3 lead but Toronto answered with five runs in the bottom half.

J.A. Happ (7-3) allowed four runs and eight hits in seven innings. T.J. McFarland (1-2) lost in relief.

Toronto trailed by a run when Kevin Pillar led off the sixth with a single, chasing starter Mike Wright. McFarland gave up a single to Darwin Barney and pinch hitter Devon Travis tied it with a sacrifice fly.

A pair of walks loaded the bases for Josh Donaldson, who hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly. Encarnacion followed with his 14th home run, a second-deck drive to left.

When Davis connected off Happ in the fourth, it was the first extra-base hit Happ had surrendered to a left-handed batter this season.

Davis has hit 16 home runs in 43 career games at Rogers Centre. He has 34 homers against the Blue Jays since 2008, more than any other opponent.

Wright allowed four runs and six hits in five-plus innings and walked a season-high five.

TRAINER'S ROOM

Blue Jays: OF Jose Bautista (right thigh) ran on the field before the game but was held out of the lineup for a second straight game. ... SS Troy Tulowitzki (right quadriceps) will rest for at least two days after suffering a setback while running the bases in an extended spring training game Friday.

UP NEXT

Orioles: RHP Ubaldo Jimenez (3-6, 6.21) has walked 35 batters in 62 1-3 innings, tying him with Kansas City's Yordano Ventura for second-most in the AL. Texas LHP Martin Perez leads with 36.

Blue Jays: RHP Aaron Sanchez (5-1, 2.91) pitched eight shutout innings against Detroit before giving up two runs in the ninth in his previous outing. He's unbeaten since April 22 against Oakland, a span of eight starts.
