BLOG: Damp But Mild

A cold front will cross the region Saturday morning and until the front passes, there could still be a few showers and perhaps even an isolated thunderstorm early in the morning. I think some places will escape these showers and stay completely dry. Clouds will thin around midday and reveal sunshine late Saturday afternoon.

A strong pressure difference in the wake of the powerful low pressure/storm center moving into Canada will promote some gusty breezes Saturday afternoon, perhaps nudging 30 mph in a few places. It will be a mild afternoon, with temperatures peaking in the mid and upper 50s.

Tonight, colder air arrives on active breezes from the west. Under mainly clear skies readings fall to the upper 30s in the city.

Sunday-Monday: Colder … a few snow showers during the coldest part of the overnight. More clouds and still chilly as a couple of jet-stream disturbances circulate through a deep trough of low pressure in the East.

The passing disturbances will bring some sprinkles or snow flurries. I think the best chance for the flurries/sprinkles will be in the late afternoon on Sunday as the limited sunshine we get helps to destabilize the atmosphere.
