2 Teens In D.C. Summer Program Say They Were Touched

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Two female teenagers participating in a District of Columbia summer youth employment program say they were victims of sexual assault while at work this week.

According to a police report the first incident involved a 17-year-old and allegedly occurred Wednesday at the headquarters of the Department of Employment Services. The teen reported that a man touched her behind and made sexually graphic statements to her. A 54-year-old man employed at headquarters as a file clerk, Thomas Nelson, was arrested and charged with second-degree touching of a minor by a person in a position of authority.

The other incident allegedly occurred Friday at Anacostia Senior High School in the southeast. In that incident a 19-year-old woman alleged she was touched inappropriately by a construction contractor. That incident is under investigation.
