100-Year-Old Tortoise Stolen From NYC Animal Shelter
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A 100-year-old tortoise has been stolen from the Alley Pond Environmental Center in Queens, New York, multiple sources report.
The center describes itself on its website as a nonprofit environmental education organization focused on educating children and adults about preservation.
Staffers apparently discovered Monday that the reptile was gone, and police later confirmed there had been a forced entry.
