"Dancing With the Stars" announces Bindi Irwin as celebrity contestant for season 21

"Dancing With the Stars" has started to unveil the celebrity cast members for season 21 -- starting with Bindi Irwin, the 17-year-old daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin.

She'll join the ABC dancing competition reality series when it returns this fall.

"This is completely different to anything I have ever done in my life," Irwin said on ABC's "Good Morning America" Monday. "I am used to wrangling crocodiles."

Irwin admitted that she's nervous about joining the series, adding, "I have to tell you though, the judges scare me more than crocodiles."

Irwin was 8 years old when her father, a wildlife expert and TV personality, died in a stingray attack off the coast of Australia in 2006. She has since created a book series and starred in TV shows centered on wildlife and conservation efforts.

Pro-dancers returning to the upcoming "DWTS" include Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Derek Hough, Val Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff. Additional celebrity contestants are expected to be announced next week.

The new season premieres at 8 p.m. ET on Sept. 14 on ABC.
