Baby girl missing out of Davie found safe after Florida issues AMBER Alert

DAVIE — Police said a missing baby girl out of Broward County has been found after an AMBER Alert was issued Wednesday morning.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse asked for the public's help in finding 8-month-old Amelia Martinez, who was last seen near the 4900 block of Southwest 148th Avenue in Davie on Tuesday. Amelia is said to have brown hair and brown eyes.

According to Davie Police, Amelia was last seen with her father Jacob Howard after being picked up at a local daycare center and are currently in contact with him.

According to the alert, she may be in the company of her mother Arys Martinez and traveling north toward Orlando in a 2021 white Toyota Camry with the Florida license plate AZ89FY. Arys is described to be about 5'5" and weighing around 140 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Davie Police also said that both of Amelia's parents had their parental rights terminated recently. Later Wednesday morning, Davie Police confirmed to CBS News Miami that Amelia was found safe, but didn't provide further information regarding her situation.

Police are investigating the circumstances regarding Amelia's disappearance.
