ATF withdraws proposal to ban rifle ammo
After a backlash from lawmakers and the public, the ATF has decided to drop plans to ban a popular type of rifle ammunition. Some types of ammunition used in AR-15-style rifles can penetrate a police officer's protective vest if fired from a handgun.
