California reparations task force urges payments to descendants of enslaved people
California's first-of-its-kind task force on reparations for Black Americans has submitted its final recommendations to the state legislature. The 1,200-page report is the result of two years of work that looked at how the state can best atone for the impact of slavery and decades of racial discrimination.
