Southwest Airlines to start charging for checked bags

On May 28, Southwest Airlines will start charging most of its customers for checked bags for the first time in its history. Flyers who are part of the company's A-List Preferred program and those selecting Business Select tickets will be exempt. Previously, the airline allowed passengers to have two free checked bags regardless of ticket status.
