More than six years ago, Prince Harry told Oprah that concerns about his family's security and lack of support from the palace pushed him to uproot his family and move to the US. It was both.

Since then, time and more tension have rippled through his family. Lilibet was born in 2021. A year later, his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, died. In 2023, he released his explosive memoir, Spare, writing that his brother, Prince William, physically attacked him in an argument. Then a year after that, his father, King Charles, revealed he had cancer, as did his sister-in-law, Princess Catherine of Wales. But just last year, he still insisted this. I can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point.

Clearly, that world has changed. The Sussexes are now coming home. This shift is enormous. It's the biggest change in Harry and Meghan's lives since they stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

It's understood Harry and Meghan's visit home just last month and secretly to King Charles's Highgrove estate in the Cotswolds was a turning point. We do know their visit to see Charles over the summer, the first time that Archie and Lilibet had seen their grandfather in four years, was very successful. It's also understood that the king and queen only learned of the news last Sunday and that they both welcomed it. As for Harry's relationship with his brother, his estranged brother, there's been no comment yet from William. Harry and Meghan's return home here could happen in just a matter of days, Errol.
