DEBORA PATTA:

Israeli military officials told us once again today there is no starvation in Gaza. But look at this, Palestinians so hungry they've been reduced to battling it out for food. Only the strongest survive. The rest left to pick up scraps in the dirt. The IDF insists they are not restricting aid into the territory and wanted to show us proof. The IDF has brought us to an aid collection point. It's just inside Gaza. And it's only 15 miles away from that humiliating scramble for aid, with enough food and water to fill 800 trucks. The IDF let us look around but refused to answer any questions on camera but told us off camera their responsibility to deliver this aid to Gazans stops here and that if supplies are not getting into the hands of Palestinians quickly enough, it's the fault of the UN, who hasn't collected the aid. Aid agencies tell us that Israel is still making the distribution of aid almost impossible. It can take hours to get trucks to distribution centers. They are held at checkpoints, aid organizations say, and can't drive freely across the territory, as humanitarian pauses are only in a few areas. Everywhere else in Gaza is still at war, and people are so crazed with hunger, they will do anything, aid groups say. Here, you see one of their trucks being overwhelmed by civilians desperate to get their hands on something to eat. And tomorrow, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will visit an aid distribution site in Gaza, the White House says, to hear firsthand from Palestinians about the dire situation on the ground. OK, Debora Patta, thank you.
