Reaction to the plan was fast and furious and disregards the pleas of hostage families, who say the expansion of the war risks the lives of loved ones still in captivity. Thousands of Israeli protesters took to the streets across the country. The only person that benefits from this war is Benjamin Netanyahu. And we, the people of Israel, 85% of us demand the immediate end of this ridiculous, stupid, brutal war. To continue the war is a disaster for the Palestinians and for us Israelis, as well.

Rage boiled over as demonstrators clashed with police. While in Gaza, there was disbelief and despair. Netanyahu has said he wants to occupy the whole territory. And in the early hours of this morning, his cabinet approved a plan to seize Gaza City, where Palestinians have been ordered to evacuate once again. [SPEAKING ARABIC]

We're being tested beyond human limits, said Raed Mohammed. Israel isn't killing Hamas. It's killing civilians, children, women. The cabinet's new war plan includes occupying the whole of Gaza in a bid to disarm Hamas, free the hostages, and eventually transfer control to Arab forces. But it has come under fire from some of the IDF's top brass, including the chief of staff, who believes it endangers the hostages and places pressure on overstretched and exhausted troops. Adriana.
