Lifting LGBT donor restrictions will boost blood supply, advocates say

The FDA proposed easing blood donation restrictions to allow men who sleep with other men to donate. Cole Williams, founder of advocacy group Pride and Plasma, discusses efforts to get the restrictions lifted and says the changes mean more members of the LGBTQ community can donate -- increasing the blood supply 2%-4% per year -- and helping fight the stigma against community members.
