Two Texas law enforcement officers were killed while directing traffic in a 24-hour span. In Mabank, Fire Chief and police officer Charlie Woodard, and in Houston, 24-year-old Montgomery County Sheriff Deputy Erika Serrato. Serrato was directing traffic on I-45 in Houston when a heavy-duty commercial vehicle hit and killed her early Sunday morning.
