Texas to restrict SNAP purchases of sugary drinks and candy starting tomorrow
Beginning tomorrow, Texas will restrict the use of SNAP benefits for buying sweetened drinks and candy. The new rules target added sugars, banning beverages with sugar and snacks coated in chocolate, yogurt or caramel. More than 3 million Texans rely on SNAP.
