Texas offers reimbursements for counties in 287(g) program

Texas sheriff’s offices can now apply for state‑funded partial reimbursement for costs tied to participating in federal 287(g) immigration‑enforcement agreements. Counties must pass a commissioners court resolution to qualify, and about 150 already meet eligibility requirements. Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn noted his office has used the program inside the jail for nearly a decade.
