Texas lawmakers debate SB 8, bill requiring sheriffs to work with ICE

There's already an existing program for this, called 287-G, but it is optional, allowing certain officers in the sheriff's department to serve immigration warrants to individuals held at their jails, a job normally reserved only for federal agents.
