States begin redrawing congressional maps after Supreme Court ruling on Louisiana plan

Southern states are moving to redraw their congressional districts after a Supreme Court ruling that said Louisiana’s map, which included two majority‑Black districts, relied too heavily on race. Following the decision, Florida lawmakers approved a new map backed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, and Mississippi is also preparing to revise its districts.
