Republican primary for Texas Attorney General

For the first time in more than a decade, there will be an open seat at the Texas Capitol. Four of the candidates for Texas Attorney General are running in the Republican primary in March 2026, including State Senator Joan Huffman of Houston, State Senator Mayes Middleton of Galveston, former Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Policy at the U.S. Justice Department Aaron Reitz and Central Texas Congressman Chip Roy.
