Middle East conflict drives market volatility and rising gas prices

Escalating conflict in the Middle East is shaking global financial markets and beginning to show up in everyday costs, especially at the pump. Because more than half the price of a gallon of gas is tied to crude oil—and a significant share of the world’s oil supply comes from the region— analysts expect prices at the pump to continue climbing after already jumping about ten cents in just a few days.
