Historic Juneteenth order document to be displayed in Dallas on June 19

General Order No. 3 is the document Union General Gordon Granger brought to Galveston on June 19, 1865, which became known as Juneteenth. That order, which came more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, informed all enslaved people in Texas that they were now free.
