Fort Worth launches effort to help neighborhoods prevent egret nesting

Fort Worth leaders are launching a new effort to help neighborhoods prevent large colonies of migrating egrets from nesting in residential trees. The federally protected birds leave behind significant messes, and once they settle in, residents can’t disturb them. City officials are hosting a free community meeting to explain prevention strategies and answer questions as the season approaches.
