911 system error leads to police shooting at wrong Grand Prairie home

Grand Prairie police are investigating an officer-involved shooting after a 911 system error sent officers to the wrong home. The dispatch system auto-filled the caller’s cellphone address, leading police to a neighbor’s house. When the resident emerged from the garage and allegedly pointed a firearm in a “firing stance,” officers shot him in the leg. He was hospitalized and later released.
