Winter Cold Invades Again

A remarkable winter day across north Texas, the warmest day in over a week. Light winds, mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 50's. It officially reached 60° for a high at DFW airport:

Today will be the warmest day for the next week. We have a VERY cold front barreling towards us that arrives in the mid-mornings hours tomorrow for the metroplex. We'll have afternoon temperatures (just 24 hours after 60° weather) in the mid-30's with wind chills in the 20's. That's a "feel-like" drop of over 30 degrees from one day to the next.

A Blizzard  is raging over the Dakotas and parts of Minnesota. The warnings include Blowing Snow and Extreme Wind Chills:

It'll be a mild evening tonight we you are out and about in north Texas. Temperatures will stay in the 40's overnight so it'll be a mild start to your Sunday. The front sweeps through around 9am - 10am in the metro area. You'll certainly feel its passage thanks to the strong winds from the northwest that follow behind the front. Temperatures will reach into the mid-40's before noon, then drop down to the 30's by afternoon.

There is going to be a little big of drizzle or light rain with the front coming through. Expect cloudy skies along with the cutting winds; its full-on winter feeling by afternoon.

As skies clear Sunday night we'll have the temperatures drop down to the 20's by Monday morning:

Highs on Monday will only be in the low 40's. We'll have mostly sunny skies and less wind but still a very cold day. Bundle up if you are heading to the MTSU/Navy game on TCU campus (the Bell helicopter Armed Forces Bowl), it's an early kick-off (10:45a).

Lows will again drop down to the mid-20's for Tuesday morning. The cold won't stick around, we'll warm up to 60° by New Year's Day. Another cold front comes through late Wednesday to bring another round of cooler weather.
