When Will It Get Cold Next?

I have received a few comments and questions about when will it get really cold again in North Texas.  Of course the mornings have been quite chilly, but the next couple of afternoons we will be in 70s territory....10-15 degrees above average for this time of year.

We will have a weak cold front move through Saturday morning, but this front will only cool us down a few degrees.  A stronger cold surge appears to be on tap by Wednesday or Thursday of next week.  The GFS below shows the cold front moving through midday Wednesday.

It does not appear at this time that the cold air will arrive with precipitation.  We'll keep you updated.
