When Does that Cold Front Get Here, Larry?
"Not soon enough!" But the cold front I have been talking about for the past couple of days is still on track to arrive Friday night and bring us cooler weather for the weekend. First thing first though, the forecast for the Cowboys Game looks good tonight. Rain has pretty much come to an end in New York and New Jersey. There still could be an isolated shower, but it should be mostly dry for the game tonight which starts at 730pm CDT.
COLD FRONT COMING...
The cold front will arrive Friday night into Saturday morning. There will be a few showers and thunderstorms with the front and even behind the front Friday night into Saturday morning. At this time, the best chance of rain should be after high school football games Friday night. You'll know when the front comes thru because winds will pick up out of the north and gusts to 30 mph. Temperatures will be cooler for the weekend. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 80s. Sunday morning will be really pleasant with temperatures starting in the 60s.
Here is a look at the CBS 11 HIGH RESOLUTION FORECAST MODEL that shows the front arriving Friday night.

NEW TROPICAL STORM IN THE GULF?
There is a very interesting cluster of thunderstorms off the Central Gulf Coast that needs watching. The National Hurricane Center gives it a 40% chance of becoming a tropical storm. The interesting part of this is that this circulation is part of what is left of Isaac. A piece of energy broke off of Isaac and has ended up here in the northern Gulf. This will likely just linger in the same general area until the weekend when the cold front that sweeps our way reaches the Gulf and picks this area up and shoves it NE. Here is a look at the storm cluster as of Wednesday afternoon. The Hurricane Center says this would not be named Isaac again but would assume a new name "Nadine". Their reason is that this circulation was a spin off of Isaac. If it was the surface circulation that was Isaac it would again be named Isaac.
