Tomorrow: Morning Rain, Cloudy, High: 76, Winds N 10-20
Monday: Morning Fog, Mostly Sunny, High: 84, Winds N 5-15
We have reports of rainfall amounts in the 2"-3" rain from Waco over to Palestine. DFW Airport is now over an 1" of rain. This is, by far, the biggest rain we have had this month. Sorry that it decided to come on a Saturday but this has been just about a perfect rain for ranchers and yards; lots of rain over a long period the soaks deep into the ground.
Highs today stayed in the low 70's; it stayed in the 60's all afternoon once the heavier rain set in across the metro area.
We expect the rain to start letting up some after midnight. It will become spotty over the metro area but stay heavy over the eastern third. Heavier rain will be east of the metro area by Sunday morning and moving east. For the metro area we'll have rain around in the morning I suspect, it'll be light in nature. Winds will be brisk out of the north all day, highs will stay in the 70's.
Below you see a the FutureSky forecast at 7am and then at 4pm showing the rain shifting east and out of the metro:
Once the rain moves out tomorrow it is going to stay dry for awhile. We had a very dry September; its ironic that it ended with so much rain. October is going to start dry, rain isn't back into the forecast until next weekend. Right we'll keep the chances small but it should be a good shot of Fall weather. I expect highs next weekend to also be in the 70's. Until then it'll be a little on the warm side with highs in the upper 80's for Wed. and Thur.
