Weekend Forecast Carries Small Rain Chances

NOT QUITE AS WARM THIS WEEKEND, BUT TEMPS STILL ABOVE NORMAL

A persistent south wind will keep things warm and humid in North Texas for the weekend.  The upper level ridge which has brought upper 80s  and 90s to our area is in the process of breaking down.  We will see a few more clouds in the sky both Saturday and Sunday, and temperatures will come down a few degrees, but still stay on the warm side.

RAIN CHANCES STAY MAINLY NORTH…UNTIL MONDAY

The upper level winds will be coming at us from the southwest.  Usually we see tiny disturbances in this flow that can trigger thunderstorms locally.  It appears most of the disturbances will remain to our north over the weekend, along with a weak cold front.  There is a chance of rain and storms mainly in Oklahoma and Northwest Texas over the weekend, with only our far northwestern counties under any threat for storms.

By Sunday night, an area of storms to west is forecast to move east into North Texas.  The question will be do the storms hold together long enough to affect us Sunday night into Monday morning.  Nevertheless, it appears a few storms are possible Sunday night and again on Monday as another disturbance rolls back in from the southwest.

The cap should re-establish itself on Tuesday, and rain chances will be back to zero.

GRASS POLLEN VERY HIGH TODAY

A lot of new allergy attacks have been reported over the past week or so.  Cottonwood and grass pollens have really picked up in that timeframe.  Today, grass pollen was in the 'very high' category.  If you're sensitive to grass pollen, it hasn't been a good day.

Tomorrow…Partly cloudy, breezy, humid and warm.  High 84°  South wind 15-25 mph.

Sunday…Partly cloudy & warm.  High 83°  South wind 10-15 mph.

Sunday night…20% chance of rain, especially west of DFW.  Low 65°

Monday…30% chance of rain and storms.  Otherwise, partly cloudy & warm.  High 84°

Tuesday & Wednesday…Mostly sunny and very warm.  Lows near 70°  Highs 85-88°
