Vets Upset State Fair Exhibit Placed So Close To Vietnam Memorial

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - It's a big new American Ninja Warrior style course at the State Fair of Texas, but where it's located is causing controversy.
The Texas Vietnam memorial wall is a sacred place in a secluded part of Fair Park.
Fairgoers can leave flowers or place flags by the names of loved ones who died in the war.
For 26 years, the stone walls have offered a place of quiet reflection.
But not this year.
Some vets say a new exhibit called The Titan of Texas Challenge has stripped the dignity away from the memorial.
Fair officials didn't realize the problem until the exhibit, which features an American Ninja style obstacle course, was in place.
"It was like a circus here and this is not the area for a circus," says Bob Faulds, president of Friends of the Texas State Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
The Titan of Texas Challenge is operated by Nissan.
No one we approached with the exhibit would comment.
The fair's president says he is working on a solution which may involve signs asking for quiet around the memorial.
