Texas Street To Be Named After Sandra Bland

PRAIRIE VIEW (CBSDFW.COM) - Cheers filled a small city council meeting in South Texas Tuesday night where members voted to change the name of a street to "Sandra Bland Parkway."
The decision came hours after a "walk of solidarity" through the city of Prairie View.
The road into Prairie View A&M,where Bland attended school, will be named in her honor.
Bland was arrested after a controversial traffic stop in Waller County outside of Houston in July.
Three days later she committed suicide in her jail cell.
