GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - A 17-year-old was arrested after a deadly crash on 635 in Garland.

Police said Adalberto Rivera was driving a Mustang and was weaving in and out of traffic when he came to a sudden stop. An SUV was able to stop behind him, but two other cars slammed into the back of the SUV.

Two children in a Saturn were killed on the scene and two adults were taken to the hospital.

"The victims have been identified as 18-year-old Jenny Rivera and 4-year-old Sophia Rivera"said Perdro Barineau with Garland police. The two adults are in stable condition.

Rivera took off running from the car leaving it on the highway. He was later tracked down and taken into custody. "He has been charged with failure to stop and render aid," said Barineau.

Police said he did not have a drivers licence and that more charges are possible.
