Dallas Arboretum's Cool Thursdays Concert Series tonight (9/29) features the Prince Experience. Also, running through November 23, Autumn at the Arboretum features the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village with over 90,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash and was named one of "America's Best Pumpkin Festivals," according to Fodor's Travel in 2015. Tomorrow night at the Arboretum from 6 to 9p, you can catch Pokémon. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy sundown during Autumn at the Arboretum. Battle for control of our three gyms, level up faster with our 30 Pokéstops, hunt MagicKarp, Dratini, Abra, Polliwag and other Pokémon.

Enormous and spectacular gems from the Smithsonian's National Gem Collection …officially called Giant Gems of the Smithsonian…are on display at the Perot Museum now through Jan 17, 2017. This will mark the first time such a large collection of Smithsonian gems will be on exhibit outside the Washington museum complex.

Two outstanding performances highlight this year's Allen Folk Festival. Mike Carroll and the Blues Evolution will kick off this popular annual event, followed by Beyond the Pale.  This free program is at 7:30 pm, Friday, September 30, at the Allen Public Library, 300 N. Allen Dr., free.

Fright Fest 2016 is at Six Flags Over Texas.

The Zombies take over Friday, September 30th as Screams opens for its 2016 season and unveils its newest haunted attraction, the Zombie Wasteland.  They actually have 3 Haunted Houses, the CarnEvil Clown Maze and the all new Zombie Wasteland!  Plus, there is live entertainment on the Screams® stage, Scary-Oke, games of skill, shops, a food court, a full service restaurant and pubs (for those over 21) to deliver a whole night of Halloween fun!  Screams will be open on Friday & Saturday Nights now through October 29, 2016 from 7:30 PM to 1:30 AM and is located in Waxahachie, just 30 minutes south of downtown of Dallas off of I-35E at exit 399A on the Scarborough Faire® site. Parking is free compliments of Waxahachie Autoplex.  Admission is $30 at the gate.

The Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions is tonight (9/29) at the AAC featuring members of the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Teams.

The Goodguys 24th Lonestar Nationals is at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend (9/30-10/2)

Get ready to do some headbanging tomorrow night (9/30). Check out Skid Row at Trees.

The Great State Fair of Texas opens tomorrow (9/30) and runs through October 23 at Fair Park. The opening day parade is tomorrow in downtown Dallas.
