Sun In, Clouds & Rain Out
Extensive Rain & Clouds Shift East
Clouds cleared early this morning as the eastern edge of the tightly wound upper level low drifts toward Louisiana and Mississippi. The center of the circulation is spinning over western portions of North Texas today and is expected to slowly drift into Oklahoma tonight where it will continue a slow drift eastward Thursday. This puts the expanse of showers and storms well to our east, but it doesn't mean a completely dry call on the weather for today and tomorrow.
Today
Overall, calling for a mostly sunny day, but clouds are being generated at the center of circulation and additional clouds can be expected as we heat up today. We are not working with much moisture in the atmosphere, therefore only spotty showers or an isolated storm is expected today and again Thursday. Highs in the upper 60s with 20 percent chance for rain under mostly sunny skies and south winds 10-20 mph.
Tonight & Thursday
We will get another dose of clouds overnight into Thursday morning as the western edge of the upper low pushes through North Texas. A spot shower is expected out of this western edge, too. But, again small chances at only 20 percent. Lows near 50 degrees with south winds hanging on in the breezy category of 5-15 mph. Highs near 72 under mostly sunny skies by the afternoon.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday
An amazing weekend warm up that will have many of us looking for excuses to play hooky on Friday. Skies will be sunny, winds not terribly breezy and temps balmy. Calling for upper 70s Friday with the mercury creeping into the lower and even middle 80s Saturday and Sunday. The theme should continue well into the middle of next week even with the rain chances and increasing clouds expected by Tuesday and Wednesday.
