Summer To End Summer

Yes we have enjoyed a couple of days in the 70's. Yes, Labor Day was more than two weeks ago and the kids are already looking forward to the Fall break.

But if you get out your Sextent for your noon reading you'll notice that the sun's angle isn't quite aligned over the Equator. That happens on Saturday at 9:49am and then, no matter how you define it, it is officially Fall by any measure.

As we count down the last days of the 11th warmest summer on record (of course that is refering to meteorological summer which ended August 31st) we are going to get back to the 90's. It's been a week since we've had an afternoon high in the nines.

We'll have ample sunshine and a steady south wind. We'll also have dew points in the mid-50's making it FEEL much like a typical summer day.Yesterday the afternoon dew point was 43° making it rather comfortable in the shade.

Expect low 90's both today and tomorrow along with plenty of sunshine. A cold front arrives on Saturday but it won't do much other than shift the winds and cool us down. The coldest air will stay in the midwest this round:

I expect highs to still get to around 90 degrees on Saturday, we'll be in the mid-80's on Sunday along with some brisk northeast winds.

Starting this morning we are doing our weathercasts live from the Addison Octoberfest. Great weather this year! Below you can see Garry Seith in full Fest' spirit, nothing like the smell of pretzel in the morning, smells like SIEG
