Student Show ACT Math and Science Skill
Texas students are doing much better on the ACT math and science tests. Overall Texas stayed right below the national average of 21 at 20.8 but the Texas Education Agency's Debbie Ratcliffe says there was some real improvement in math and science scores. "I looked back over a 10 year period and we've never had higher math and science scores or a higher composite score." Ratcliffe says there was also improvement in almost every student demographic and this improvement came with more students taking the test. She says there should be even more students taking the test next year because for the first time the state is picking up the cost of taking the test.
