MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are investigating after a Tosch Elementary school student was offered a ride by a stranger this morning.
The student said the stranger was parked in a red SUV, possibly a Suzuki, on Motley Drive and Whit Drive. As the student walked by, the driver of the SUV called out to the student but the child continued walking and the person in the SUV drove away.
The back of the SUV's driver's side was painted white as if it had been repaired. The driver of the vehicle was a white or Hispanic male with a dark beard and a baseball hat. Witnesses advised that it looked as though the man's hair was coming out from around the edge of the baseball hat.
Investigators and additional patrols will be placed in the area of Tosch Elementary for the next few days.
The Mesquite Police Department urges parents and educators to remain observant in the area. Anyone observing a SUV matching the description of man's car in question, should call 911.
