Storms Chances Smaller But Still Around

It's Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of Summer. Temperatures will warm to near 90's this afternoon after these morning clouds burn off and the sun peaks out. Nice pool weather! Hawaiian Falls is honoring all military personal this weekend with free admission:

 

The holiday weekend shows the best chance of storms on Monday:

These storms could be powerful, producing damaging winds and large hail. The greater risk of storms is to our southwest this afternoon. These storms could reach into our southern counties by evening:

 

 

Tomorrow the risk for afternoon/evening storms is again 20% for north Texas. Storms out in the panhandle tomorrow could cluster together and make a run for us overnight into Monday morning:

 

 

We have a few more shots for rain as we close the month. May is traditionally our wettest month of the year and we are running a slight deficit. Last year May was the wettest one on record with almost 17" of rain falling in the 31 day period.

After the holiday weekend the storm chances pick up on Tuesday and Wednesday as a weak cold front comes thru and increases our rain coverage:
