Fatal Accident Temporarily Closes SB Central Expressway

DALLAS (CBSDFW/1080 KRLD) - Late Sunday night a fatal accident closed southbound Highway 75/Central Expressway at Lemmon Ave in Dallas for hours.

According to Dallas police, an adult female was killed in the accident that occurred around 8:45 p.m. Sunday. Initial emergency calls were for a female being pushed from a vehicle, but officials haven't confirmed how the woman died.

A heavy Dallas police presence shutdown most of the highway starting at Haskell Ave.

Despite the late hour, traffic backups in the area were significant and took some time to unsnarl after all the southbound lanes were reopened around midnight.
