Sobriety Checkpoint Bill On Tap For Austin

EULESS (CBSDFW.COM) - The controversial sobriety checkpoint bill will be re-introduced at the upcoming legislative session.

The bill would allow for sobriety stops in cities with a population over 500,000, and counties with more than 250,000 people.

Mary Cardell of Mothers Against Drunk Driving says the best thing about the checkpoints are that they're advertised.

Critics say the checkpoints will stop and inconvenience lots of innocent drivers.
