Snow Stops, But Temperatures Continue To Drop
NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The snow has ended but temperatures are dropping.
This is causing problems on the roads, mainly north and east of Dallas County. Temperatures are already in the upper 20s in Collin County and there have been a number of accidents reported in the Allen and Plano area, according to the Texas Department of Transportation website.
Bridges and overpasses are the main concerns, as slush in those areas freeze. Not much freezing drizzle is being reported, although CBS 11 Meteorologist Jeff Ray in Hunt County did report seeing such earlier this evening.
The best chance for frozen drizzle will be after midnight into the early morning hours.
Temperatures Monday will stay below freezing through about 11 a.m. or noon. There will be a few breaks in the clouds in the afternoon tomorrow but temperatures will only warm to 35 degrees during the afternoon, at best.
Expect temperatures to drop back into the 20s tomorrow night, so if any slush is left it will refreeze.
