Slight Storm Chances, May Start Warm

SMALL STORM CHANCES TONIGHT, ONLY SLIGHTLY BETTER TOMORROW

For the second night in a row we are keeping our eyes to our west to see if any evening storms develop. Not much in our favor there; the stationary front that is helping develop storms to our north in Oklahoma is a little far from us. I've circled the area that might have some storms develop later.

There is an upper-air disturbance coming in from the southwest, this will increase the cloud cover and might squeeze out a few sprinkles:

STORMS TOMORROW

There is a decent chance of rain tomorrow to start our work week. If the storms over Oklahoma really get going tonight an outflow boundary could trigger some rain by daybreak tomorrow. With daytime heating and a few outflow boundaries around we'll also have some afternoon storms crop up. Coverage will likely be modest and the whole idea is based on a complex of storms developing tonight to our north.

GETTING DRIER...AND HOTTER

We start the month of May on Tuesday. Morning clouds will give way to sunshine, the winds are going be strong (south 20-30mph) and highs will get into the mid-80's.

Highs in the upper 80's for Wednesday and Thursday; by Friday and Saturday highs will get into the low 90's. Even though April logged 19 out of 30 days with highs at least 80 degrees or higher, it has yet to hit 90° at DFW.  It is certainly been warm of late; by Friday we'll have logged 10 days in a row of above-normal highs and lows.
