Severe Storms Possible

We are anticipating storms developing west and northwest of the metro area by late afternoon and moving across the metroplex and areas north to the Red River.  Still awaiting development ahead of an approaching cold front that is to our northwest just now coming out of the panhandle.

Storms from last night to our south have produced a slot of dry air just above the surface and have kept storm development at bay so far. A steady southwest wind is trying to get the atmosphere sufficiently primed to get things going. Watching the radar.

These storms could produce damaging winds if indeed they get going in the afternoon heating. We are sweeping the area with our own in-house radar system every :30 seconds. I'll keep you posted.
