There's a little campaign spat over race in the Governor's race. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill White, speaking to an African American group this week, said he wants to be a servant leader while Republican Governor Rick Perry wants to be treated as a master. Perry campaign spokesman Mark Miner says that's a racially charged statement. "They're insensitive and do nothing but divide our state." Minor is calling on White to apologize to the people of Texas. White supporter, Democratic Representative Garnet Coleman, says Governor Perry and his campaign don't get the concept of being a servant leader, being someone who serves the people's interests first. "I think he like having servants but I don't think he's characterized himself as one." The White campaign says he's been talking about servant leadership for a long time but this is the first time the Perry campaign has made an issue of it.
