Saturday Morning Rain, Colder Weather Around

THICK FOG THIS MORNING

Fog was the weather story for our Thanksgiving of 2011', visibility was down to less than a ¼ mile at DFW airport delaying air travel. The fog morphed into a low deck of clouds in the eastern counties and kept temperatures in the 50's all day from Rockwall, Kaufman, Corsicana and east of there. The clouds broke first over Fort Worth, temperatures got into the upper 60's. As the clouds finally started to break in the last few hours of the day at DFW and over in Dallas highs got to around 60°.

 AFTER THE STUFFING, THE SHOPPING

The clouds will be right back in tonight, fog will again form in the overnight hours. It won't be as thick or persistent as the it was today. There might be some drizzle in the morning. Once the clouds break in the late morning it'll revel a fine Friday for the shoppers. Highs should reach into the upper 60's with mostly sunny skies. Toward the end of the day some high clouds will come in from the west. These clouds foretell rain.

RAIN OVERNIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING

Another front is heading towards us, it'll be here on Saturday morning. Ahead of it late tomorrow night rain will move in from the west. Overnight we are expecting a light rain that will be around still by Saturday morning. Temperatures will be in the upper 50's and it'll be breezy with a wind out of the southwest before the front arrives. This rain will be moving east as the day continues; storms will crank up along a Bonham to Corsicana line. Some good rains (.50" or more) will fall in our eastern counties as the storms leave by afternoon. Saturday is going to be very windy, a cold north wind at 20-30mph will actually drop the temperatures into the low 50's in the afternoon. Below is the estimated rainfall for the overnight hours heading into Saturday.

COLD START TO SUNDAY

Temperatures will get close to freezing by Sunday morning as the winds die down. They'll drop into the upper 20's in our northern counties. We'll have sunny skies and a north wind on Sunday, temperatures should climb at least into the low 50's with a breeze. It'll be a winter coat day all day long.

THE FREEZING MARK MONDAY MORNING, COOL WEEK AHEAD

We are forecasting a low right at 32° at DFW on Monday morning. This would be the first time we've hit the freezing point this Fall at the airport (we were down to 34° way back on the 4th of this month). The winds will turn to the southeast and combined with sunshine highs will climb all the way to the mid-60's.  Another front comes in on Tuesday, highs will only be in the 50's that day. Clouds on Wednesday will keep highs in the 50's again with temperatures only around 60° on Thursday with breezy conditions. That'll be the first day of December so no surprise that we have a colder week ahead.
