Sandie's Arts Blog: Wildflower Fest And More

This week there is a little something for everyone in the Metroplex!  The whole family will have lots of fun at the annual Wildflower Festival in Richardson.  The three day event brings the best in music food and art to North Texas and this year rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis and REO Speedwagon will be headlining shows guaranteed to entertain all ages!

American Idol finalist Constantine reprises the role he created on Broadway in ROCK OF AGES.  The homage to 80's rock tells the story of an aspiring rocker and the girl he loves.  Set against the backdrop of a Sunset Strip nightclub - fans of Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Styx and Twisted Sister will love the rocking music and who doesn't love all that 80's hair and shoulder pads?  It continues at the AT&T Performing Arts Center thru May 29th.

If you loved the film starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin - chances are you will love the stage version of "9-5".  the fun musical is part of the Dallas Summer Musical's 71st season and continues at the Music Hall at Fair Park thru May 29th.

The Dallas Museum of Art continues their summer Jazz Under the Stars series every Thursday night.  It's a great way to unwind after a long day with some excellent free entertainment - the series continues thru June 16th every Thursday night beginning at 8p.
